It seems the ladies eyelash growth chemical, Latisse is now being examined as a male balding cure. Latisse is getting some serious media attention these days and the most recent exposure can be found via The Huffington Post.com.

Much has been said about the side effects of Latisse (including skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes and redness of the eyelids), but could the FDA-approved eyelash enhancement drug, in fact, cure male balding?

Dr. Alan Bauman, a hair restoration physician in Florida, has been using the formula on men with wispy strands, “just like you would for your eyelashes, and that would be once a day, and you use a little bit topically, on the scalp,” and he’s noticed that it stimulates the follicles on the head. He told “Good Morning America” that he’s seen positive results in 70 percent of clients.

However, Sy Sperling, who you might know from the Hair Club For Men, told the cameras, “When there’s a real solution for baldness, I’ll be banging your door down. I’m ready for it. People shouldn’t get too excited about [this]. I think that [Latisse is] a lot better for the eyelashes and not quite as successful for hair loss.”

It’ll also cost you a pretty penny — Latisse runs $150/month for 400 eyelashes and the average male has 100,000 hairs. But, as Bauman says, avoiding total hair loss: priceless…you know, if it works.
