Post partum hair loss can add stress to your life leaving most mothers in depressed stage.Anagen, catagen and telogen are the three different stages of hair growth. During pregnancy hormones block the hair follicles when at anagen stage. This is also one of the reasons why most women with short hair have faster hair growth during pregnancy.
Immediately after pregnancy, the level of hormones is back to its normal counts and so more number of hair go through the second stage of hair growth. And so these hair also enter the final stage or telogen instantly. During this period the hair are expected to stay attached to its roots for about 100 days and then they fall down.
Post partum is a stage that is triggered around 4 months after giving birth to the child, and so you can expect more hair loss during this period. Women may have to face this problem for around one year or more. This is also a stage that is believed to reduce the thickness of hair leading to hair loss. In case you faced difficulty during child birth then there are chances that you experience more hair loss.

1. As this is a stage that is as a result of hormonal changes, so it may never be possible to eliminate this stage from our life. Vitamins can always help such that you get to control hair loss to some extent. Consuming right type of vitamins might also encourage growth of new hair.

You can also try consuming a number of supplements available like Vitamin H or Biotin, Zinc and Calcium, so your hair is much stronger. Scalp massage with fingers can always help in increasing the circulation of blood and oxygen in the scalp area. Hair needs to be detangled daily so they growth healthy from base to tip.
3. The time of child birth should not be stressful for any women. A perfect support system and comfort can help in easing the mental trauma.
4. It is also advisable to try and make less use of creams on the scalp. You can use shampoos that are rich in vitamins and diluted. Try to maintain trimmed hair so they grow healthy from the root area. It is important that you take care of your hair after child birth using right vitamins in your daily diet.
